Yukon School of Visual Arts Applications for SOVA 2022 was opened in December 2021 and is available for the public. There is also a non-refundable $30 CAD fee for each program application.
Spring Equinox Application Deadline for fall 2022 (September) is March 31, 2022 (We recommend this deadline for students applying out of Yukon Territory) Pre-Summer Deadline is June 1, 2022 depending on available space in the program.
STEP ONE: Yukon School of Visual Arts Online Application
SOVA students are required to apply through Yukon University’s online portal:
INSTRUCTIONS
Page 1 –Create any Personal Identification Number (PIN). It must be 6 digits, can be anything you want, and will allow you access to the application system.
Page 2 –You will have an application ID number created. It will start with G. Write this number down. It will be the number that you use to access the system if you stop at any point to finish later.
Page 3 –Choose your “Application Type”: select option 3 – Certificate, Diploma & Degree Programs from the drop-down menu.
Page 4 –Select the term that you plan to begin your studies, and enter your name.
Page 5 –This is a checklist of all pages that must be completed for your application. For “First Program Choice” select SOVA- Visual Arts Certificate from the menu.
STEP TWO: SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS
Submit your official transcripts (mailed directly from your previous school) to Yukon University Admissions. Applications without official transcripts cannot be processed.
STEP THREE: SUBMIT PORTFOLIO
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR PORTFOLIO
We require a written statement, 10-20 images of your work, and 2-5 process shots. Further details can be found on our portfolio requirements page.
Your portfolio must be submitted by the deadline along with all supporting materials.
If you are submitting your portfolio digitally, please send a link to a Dropbox file to info@yukonsova.ca. We recommend following up with an email to ensure we have received all of your documents. If you are mailing your portfolio materials, please submit all materials on a clearly labeled USB stick.
