University of Alberta Winter intake 2023 Application deadlines for international students are announced.
UALBERTA Deadlines are set by the department delivering the program. Deadlines may be as early as 12 months before the program begins.
University of Alberta advices Applicants to contact the department in advance because:
- department deadlines are often tied to funding and award consideration, and
- international applicants generally need plenty of time (up to six months in some cases) to make arrangements to enter Canada (where applicable).

University of Alberta Academic Year
The academic year runs from September to August and is divided into four academic terms. The masters program has four entry dates. The doctoral program has only one entry date.

University of Alberta Applications for entry to Winter, Spring, Summer & Fall 2023 terms open May 01, 2022 and close October 01, 2022.
Applications for entry to Spring, Summer & Fall 2023, and Winter 2024 terms open November 01, 2022 closing March 01, 2023.
Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, Landed Immigrant, and International* Applicants
Important Note: All items must be received by the application deadline including reference letters. Therefore please ensure that your application for admission is submitted two weeks prior to the deadline.

DOCTORAL PROGRAM APPLICATIONS
Doctoral Programs are not available for admission in winter. Applications are accepted for admission to the Fall term only.
Under special circumstances applications received after the deadline may be considered.
Study Permit Deadlines for In-Canada Studies
Departments must submit completed international applications – including all documentation – to the FGSR by the following dates:
- July 1 for September admission
- November 1 for January admission
- March 1 for May admission
- May 1 for July admission
